Norton Gastroenterology Consultants of Louisville, Kentucky, is recruiting full-time board certified or board eligible physicians to join its growing metropolitan practice. The group of six (6) physicians and three (3) nurse practitioners (soon to be 4) cover two facilities, Norton Brownsboro Hospital and Norton Women's & Children's Hospital. Established more than 30 years ago, this group is an integral part of Norton Medical Group, the employed physician group of Norton Healthcare. The physicians have great relationships with the hospitalists, intensivists, and emergency room physicians at each facility, so nightime call coverage is kept to a minimum. There is a built in referring network of 950 employed physicians and providers, of which over 400 are primary care. Currently the group is scheduling patients 4 to 6 weeks out.

About the positions:   

  • Work schedule includes a combination of office and hospital consultation work, together with daily block scheduling for a full array of state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures 
  • Small bowel capsule endoscopy, breath testing and Smart Pill technology are available
  • Call coverage is split among physicians in the practice
  • Training in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is preferred but not required
  • EPIC integrated in 100 percent of Norton Healthcare physician practices and hospitals
