Kalispell Regional Healthcare (KRH) is looking for an adult gastroenterologist to join the existing group of 9 GI providers in the Digestive Health Institute of Montana (DHIM). Two part-time physicians will be retiring in the spring of 2019 allowing for the additional of a qualified adult gastroenterologist interested in practicing in a highly desirable community in Northwest Montana. Candidates must be board certified in gastroenterology (or board eligible if just completing training) and interested in working in a collegial practice within a state of the art facility.

Our current group of physicians and mid-level providers includes individuals with expertise in interventional GI including EUS and ERCP, hepatology, management of esophageal disease including Barrett’s esophagus and motility disorders, genetic counseling and testing as well as general gastroenterology. There are two full-time pediatric gastroenterologists at KRH who provide a full complement of services for patients under 18 years of age, so only adult patients are cared for in the DHIM. Candidates for this position should be comfortable in managing a broad range of GI conditions and participating in local educational activities. An area of subspecialty interest such as IBD management is desirable but not required. Call is equally divided between all physicians and is 1:5 at the expected staffing levels.

On October 1, 2018 the DHIM took occupancy of a specially designed and newly constructed 25,000 square foot building containing all office, clinic space, administrative support services and a state-of-the art outpatient endoscopy center – all dedicated to adult GI care and under the same roof as the main hospital. There is also a recently renovated 3-room inpatient endoscopy unit within the hospital for management of inpatients and those with more complex endoscopy needs. Anesthesiologist-directed sedation is available at both units and there is GI nursing/technical staff on-call to assist with procedures at all times during and after usual business hours.

KRH  is a multispecialty healthcare system based in Kalispell, Montana serving a population of nearly 150,000 people in the Flathead Valley, surrounding communities and Western Canada. Kalispell is centrally locate within the Flathead valley offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains and easy access to Glacier National Park.  There is fantastic downhill skiing at Whitefish Mountain Resort (also knows as “Big Mountain” – ranked as one of the top 10 ski resorts by Ski Magazine), and boating and fishing at Flathead Lake and numerous other lakes and rivers in the area. The local school systems are ranked among the best in the state adding to the draw for young families to come to the area.

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity please feel free to contact me. I will be in Philadelphia from Friday night through Monday afternoon (October 5-8) and would be happy to try to meet with you, if this is convenient.
