Currently there is one group of three gastroenterologists. One of them is retiring in January 2019. The hospital is looking to hire a gastroenterologist as a full time employee that will work with this group. Your office and outpatient endoscopy lab would be with them. Their office is about one mile from the hospital. The clinic is from 8am-5pm with 15 minute preoperative and 45 minute consultation appointments. The endoscopy lab runs from 7am-5pm. The average endoscopy time is 30 minutes. They usually schedule 10 cases in the morning and 9 in the afternoon. Each doc does about 100 endoscopies a month.
Each doc works four full days/week. Call is one out of every three weeks, Monday to Sunday, about 10 ½ days/month. During your call week you will be called to consult/procedure about 8-10 times.
The hospital proposal will be a base salary that will include a very generous benefit package that includes 20 days paid time off (PTO), 14 state holidays PTO, 5 days CME PTO, health insurance, malpractice insurance, retirement account as well as a sign on bonus and moving expenses.
