We are hiring a Clinical Development Director supporting assets targeting inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and other gastrointestinal (GI) indications in Phase 2 and later clinical development. Reporting to the VP, Clinical Development, this role offers an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced physician-scientist, to drive our IBD disease area strategy. You’ll be a physician, with extensive clinical development expertise, and a specialist in IBD and gastroenterology. You’ll be highly skilled in managing and influence effectively across multiple geographies, cultures and time-zones in a matrixed environment across the GSK organisation, as well as with external regulatory agencies. Key responsibilities: Provide clinical leadership role for an asset progressing in an IBD indication. Design and provide medical support for Ph2/3 clinical efficacy studies in IBD, working within a matrixed team environment, including medical monitoring of individual studies where necessary. Actively engage and integrate external academic and clinical trial expertise and resource to enhance quality and delivery of IBD clinical studies. Working within a matrixed team environment, lead development of an integrated evidence plan for an IBD-focussed asset and support the Medicine Development Leader in developing the overall asset strategy. Provide clinical input to potential Business Development Opportunities in IBD Contribute to the development and understanding of biology and biomarker strategies. Partner effectively across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and drive presentation and publication of clinical and scientific outputs. Provide disease area expertise to support the company IBD disease area strategy. Supervise clinicians and clinical scientists Provide development input into Research assets.
